Welcome to the KCSMA Parent Teacher Organization!
We believe that children are motivated to become lifelong learners when they are part of a thriving learning environment that includes active participation by their families, schools, and their community. Our PTO exists to provide support for the educational, social, and recreational needs of the students and to promote open communication between parents, teachers, and administration in an atmosphere that is consistent with the educational philosophy of KCSMA.
Please visit this page often for the latest information on PTO sponsored events and volunteering opportunities. If you use the FOLLOW feature, you will receive email notifications by email whenever there is a new post. We use this page to post school information pertaining to activities of the PTO, but at times, we also share important school news. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.
Although we provide support to KCSMA, the Parent Teacher Organization is a separate entity. Therefore, for information related to school policies, procedures, or enrollment, please refer to the student handbook or contact the school directly. You can find links to the KCSMA website and KCSMA Facebook Page on this page.
Please enjoy this Sparkles FREE Holiday Pass! This Pass is valid from Dec. 20th-Jan. 5th courtesy of Sparkles and this Pass is also good at the Hiram location if you want to roll on hardwood floors. This is the perfect time to get in some skating practice for the next 2 KCSMA PTO hosted Sparkles events (Kennesaw location) next year. Mark your calendars for February 26, 2015 and May 14, 2015!
Have a Safe and Happy Holiday!

Here is a sneak peek of the KCSMA Holiday Shop. Thanks to our awesome volunteers, the shop was set up today. Check your child’s bag or your teacher’s blog/email to see what day your child’s class will be shopping.
This year, a huge effort was made to provide quality merchandise at low prices. Nothing in the shop is over $5.00! There are items in the shop that retailed at over $15.00, but we are selling them for $5.00.
Thank you to all of the families who donated supplies for the holiday shop. The shop is still very short handed for many of the shifts. Thursday is the day with the fewest number of classes shopping, so we need the most volunteers for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. We still need volunteers for Thursday, but the other days are a priority. Parents, grandparents, and other family members will receive volunteer hours for your family for any time worked. Please consider volunteering if you have any time to spare next week. You may sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0849a9ae2e5-20142 The shop only runs smoothly when fully staffed with volunteers, and I appreciate every single volunteer who lends a hand. I can’t do it without you!
The Holiday Shop is in my top two favorite events at the school because the kids enjoy it so much. They put so much thought into the gifts they choose, and it is sweet and sometimes funny to hear why they want to buy certain gifts. They are even meticulous about choosing which bow to put on the gift bag. Be sure to ask your child why they picked the gifts they did because I think you will enjoy hearing their reasoning.

Dear KCSMA Families,
The holidays are near, and as a special service to our students, we are holding a Holiday Shop. Children will have the opportunity to pick out their own inexpensive, high quality gifts for family and friends during school hours. The Holiday Shop is designed to be a safe, child-centered environment where children can learn how to budget and spend wisely, while they also experience the gift of giving.
The Holiday Shop will be open during school hours December 8th through December 12th. Please visit your child’s teacher’s blog or check your email to see which day your child’s class will be shopping.
The store will also be open during the Holiday Breakfast on Saturday, December 13th, but inventory will be limited to what is left in stock. Gifts range from 25cents to $5.00, with a lot of gifts in the $1.00 price range. All gifts will be wrapped or placed in gift bags.
If your child will be shopping, please fill out the budget form that will be sent home with your child or print the attached budget form below. Place the form and CASH in an envelope or plastic zip baggie clearly marked “Holiday Shop” and your child’s name and teacher’s name, and return it to your child’s teacher.
The Holiday Shop is still in desperate need of volunteers. We need many volunteers to assist the younger students with shopping and to help with gift wrapping. At this time, we do not have even half of the needed volunteers. Please visit the PTO website or http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0849a9ae2e5-20142 to volunteer.
