Win an Apple iPad for your teacher!!

Win an Apple iPad

Parents and students looking to surprise their favorite local teachers will get a chance to win them an Apple iPad through the annual the MDJ and Superior Plumbing’s “Apple for Teachers” program.

Starting the week of Sept. 11, a lucky kindergarten through 12th grade teacher in Cobb County will receive an iPad each week of the 2017-18 school year.

To nominate a teacher, visit and complete the online form, which will ask for the teacher’s name, school, grade or level of specialty, the nominator’s name and the nominator’s email. A brief statement — 100 words or fewer — explaining why the teacher should be one of the weekly winners is also required.

Email any questions about the program to

Breakfast with Santa

KCSMA families, the holiday season is quickly approaching. This year we will have a Breakfast with Santa to kick off the week long Holiday Shoppe event. I would like to get input from multiple parents to ensure this event has something for everyone and fits the needs of our school. If you would like to assist by being on a short term committee to plan and prepare for this event, please email me at You may also email suggestions of what you’d like to see at the breakfast to the same email address. Please put “Breakfast with Santa” in the Subject line.

Thank you and we’re looking forward to holidays!

Help Needed for Teacher Luncheon: Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Fellow KCSMA Parents, as we prepare to go to the Brave’s game on September 22nd, let’s kick things off with our teachers by hosting a Take Me Out to the Ballgame themed luncheon. We have a priority need for volunteers for the event and sides! The teacher luncheons are a time to say thank you, not just in May, and to provide the teachers a different lunch experience. Please consider volunteering your time or donating an item towards this event. Volunteers are welcomed to wear a team shirt.

Going forward, the teacher luncheons will occur every other month. If you would like to help with developing the themes and menus, please email
