Welcome to the KCSMA Parent Teacher Organization!
We believe that children are motivated to become lifelong learners when they are part of a thriving learning environment that includes active participation by their families, schools, and their community. Our PTO exists to provide support for the educational, social, and recreational needs of the students, staff, and administration in an atmosphere that is consistent with the educational philosophy of KCSMA.
Thank you to everyone who attended tonight’s PTO meeting. We had a packed house, and it was great!
Huge thanks to all the volunteers who worked at open house and book fair. We could not have done it without you.
Parents, you are amazingly generous! We had so many parents buy books to donate to the classrooms. Teachers love getting new books for their libraries, and the students get so excited.
Kona Ice will let us know how much money was made tonight, and we will be using it to sponsor staff PTO memberships. Stay tuned for the final figure.
Thanks to teachers, staff, and families for showing support for our school and our children’s education. We are so fortunate to have such a caring school community, and the kids really reap the benefits!
If you are donating food or supplies for the teacher luncheon, please drop it with your child in front carpool. Natalie Lesch will be out there collecting.
The sign up may be viewed here. The teachers love and look forward to these luncheons. Thank you for supporting them!
The STEM Committee is currently looking for volunteers who can assist with stations at our upcoming Science & Engineering Night on Thursday, October 8. The event is from 5pm-7pm.
We need volunteers for the below:
To man stations from 5pm – 7pm
To prepare information boards that we can display at a specific station (You will be given a topic with guidelines and prepare a board to be turned in by October 2.)
If you would like to volunteer, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The local school board will be deciding on the attached proposed calendar for next year, which we will follow. If you have opinions one way or the other, please email your school board representative. Their email addresses can be found here.
Immediately following Principal’s Coffee, 8:45am-9:30am on Tuesday, September 8, 2015
We are starting a group of involved father figures called F.B.I. (Fathers Being Involved). There will be a meeting for brainstorming on September 8, 2015, immediately following the Principal’s Coffee until 9:30am, in the KCSMA dining room.
This group welcomes any and all involved male friends or family members. It will be part of the PTO but its own committee. We will be recruiting members to act as chairperson(s). This meeting will serve as a brainstorming session to figure out what types of activities or duties the F.B.I. will perform for the school and students.
If you are unable to attend but would like more information, please email email@example.com. Everyone who has signed up for information on this group will receive an email after the meeting to let them know what was discussed. If you signed up for information but have not received an email, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know (some emails were kicked back to the PTO, so we must not have correct email addresses).
We hope to see you there!

☆☆☆Afternoon Carpool Reminder☆☆☆
Parents may pick up their children for appointments until 2:15pm. If the carpool line has begun prior to 2:15pm, people are unable to get into the parking lot. Please be respectful of this KCSMA policy. If you arrive at the school before 2:15pm, pull into a parking spot and wait. Cars lined up in the driving lanes and parking lot hinder traffic and prevent people from getting into the school.
Thank you for your understanding.
